Carly Goldberg, Therapist, New York
For the past decade, I’ve supported individuals, couples and families through a wide range of relationship issues at various stages of their lives. Whether it’s navigating stressful life transitions, repairing trust and communication, or recovering from crisis, I am passionate about helping people strengthen their relationships and create more stability and fulfillment in their lives. Many of my clients have experienced feelings of shame, loneliness and resentment and have found therapy to be an effective tool for navigating these difficult emotions. I believe that by engaging in the therapeutic process, people can heal, reconnect, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves and their partner.
My work is largely informed by The Gottman Method, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), and psychodynamics. I consider the ways your past experiences, cultural backgrounds, and families of origin inform present day issues and relational dynamics. I work collaboratively with my clients to provide guidance and tools to help them make meaningful changes outside of the therapy office. My style is curious, warm and direct. I am committed to creating a nonjudgemental and supportive space so that you can safely explore your personal and relational needs.
I know how challenging it can feel to start therapy, and I commend you for taking this first step. Together, we will cultivate deeper insight into the parts of yourself and your relationships that you struggle with and find a way forward at a pace that feels comfortable to you.
