Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Does The Relationship Suite take Insurance?
The therapists at The Relationship Suite are considered out-of-network providers. This means that we can provide you with a verification form called a “superbill” that you can then submit to your insurance company for partial to full reimbursement, depending on your out-of-network benefits. Payment is due at the time of service. We are not in-network or paneled with any insurance companies. If your insurance does not reimburse you we will offer sliding scale/reduced fees.
Why don’t you accept Insurance?
Many of our clients have expressed concerns about going through their insurance companies for therapy, in part because of the requirement to provide them with a diagnosis that goes on your medical record. In addition, insurance companies often limit the number of therapy sessions that you are eligible for, based on your diagnosis, and all counseling must be considered “medically necessary”. Because of these concerns, we have elected to stay a private-pay counseling service.
Our clients can use Reimbursfy or Metaya to get reimbursed by their out of network benefits.
Do I get a free consultation?
Yes! We offer a FREE 20-minute phone consultation, so you understand the process to get started, know what to expect in your counseling sessions, and find the right therapist to meet your needs.
Can I use my HSA to pay for therapy?
Absolutely! Your HSA, or Health Savings Account, definitely covers the cost of therapy, usually through a debit card. We accept HSA cards.
Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?
For sure. It is very important that we continually offer convenient appointment times for busy professionals and parents, and we understand that you need to fit counseling into your already busy schedules. We offer both virtual and in person evening and weekend appointments.
Why should I pay for therapy out of pocket versus using my insurance?
We do not keep a wait list at The Relationship Suite. If you choose to pay out of pocket for individual or couples therapy with us, we can usually get you an appointment within a week. Most therapists in the community who accept insurance are full or have extensive wait lists. We can provide you personalized and professional service from inquiry to intake, and then from your intake and beyond.
If you pay out of pocket, you will also have more freedom in deciding how often and how long to continue your therapy. Finally, your counseling will be 100% confidential within The Relationship Suite. We are not allowed to release your therapy information (including diagnosis) to your insurance company or medical providers without your written consent. These are some of the many benefits of paying out of pocket for counseling services.
